On
this day in 1922, Walt Disney incorporated his first movie company: Laugh-O-Gram
Films. Six years later, he created the character Mickey Mouse (featured in the
silent film Plane Crazy). Next, Mickey appeared in Steamboat Willy,
a short film that was Disney’s first experiment with the use of sound (Walt
himself was the voice of Mickey). Disney went on to produce the first
feature-length cartoon, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1938). He also
built Disneyland, the world’s first modern theme park, in 1955. Ever the
creative visionary, Disney said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” And
that’s still great advice whether you are mouse or man. The End.
