On
this day in 1994, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis died of cancer. She was buried in
Arlington National Cemetery next to her first husband, John F. Kennedy. Mrs.
Kennedy had become one of America’s most notable First Ladies at the relatively
young age of 31. Five years after her husband was assassinated, the former Mrs.
Kennedy married shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis. Following her second
marriage, “Jackie O”, who had already been an international celebrity, became
one of the most closely watched public figures in the world.
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis once observed, “A grand aim for one’s life is the
only fortune worth having.” The following quotable men and women agree.

“Not failure, but low aim, is the crime.”

“In the long run we only hit what we aim at. Aim high.”

Mary Kay Ash
“Lord, grant that I may always desire more than I can accomplish.”

Washington
