A Daily Dose of Inspired Wisdom for Quote Lovers. May 19.

On this day in 1994, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis died of cancer. She was buried in Arlington National Cemetery next to her first husband, John F. Kennedy. Mrs. Kennedy had become one of America’s most notable First Ladies at the relatively young age of 31. Five years after her husband was assassinated, the former Mrs. Kennedy married shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis. Following her second marriage, “Jackie O”, who had already been an international celebrity, became one of the most closely watched public figures in the world.

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis once observed, “A grand aim for one’s life is the only fortune worth having.” The following quotable men and women agree.

Never Be Afraid to Aim High

“Not failure, but low aim, is the crime.”
James Russell Lowell

In the long run we only hit what we aim at. Aim high.”
Henry David Thoreau

A good goal is like a strenuous exercise – it makes you stretch.”
Mary Kay Ash

Lord, grant that I may always desire more than I can accomplish.”
Michelangelo

Arriving at one goal is the starting point of another.”
John Dewey

"
Begin with an intense burning desire for something definite."
 Napoleon Hill

"Great minds have purposes; others have wishes."

Washington Irving

Today’s Bible Verse

But He said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."
Luke
18:27 NKJV
