On
this day in 1925, Yogi Berra was born in
St. Louis. Today, Berra
is best remembered for his
zany quotes, but he was also one of the best baseball players who ever lived. He
was a three-time American League MVP and an 18-time All-Star. As a New York
Yankee, Berra played on 14 pennant winners and 10 World Series champions.
The highly quotable Yogi said, “It ain’t over till it’s over,” and
“If you don’t go to their funeral, they won’t go to yours.”
Berra also had this advice about decision-making. He said, “When you come to a fork in the road, take it.”
And he was right. So if you’re facing a decision, remember good old Yogi Berra,
and make that decision sooner rather than later. Otherwise, the fork in your
road might just turn out to be a dead end.
If It's Time to Make a Decision, Decide!
"Nothing is so exhausting as indecision, and nothing is so
futile."
Bertrand Russell
"You only find complete unanimity in a cemetery."
Abel Aganbegyan
"Once a decision is reached, stop worrying and start working."
William James
"It is always your next move."
Napoleon Hill
"The man who insists upon seeing with perfect clearness
before he decides never decides.’
Henri Frédéric Amiel
"Not to decide is to decide."
Harvey Cox
