A Daily Dose of Inspired Wisdom for Quote Lovers. May 1.

On this day in 1920, Babe Ruth hit his first home run as a New York Yankee (it was the 50th of his career). Ruth began his career as a pitcher with the Boston Red Sox, but moved to the outfield in order to play every day. His hitting prowess revolutionized the game of baseball. Yankee Stadium was built in 1923, in large part, due to Babe’s popularity (it became known as “the house that Ruth built”) In 1935, he retired with 714 home runs, a record that was eventually eclipsed by Hank Aaron. Through the following quotations, the Babe shares some hard-hitting advice. Enjoy.

 All-purpose Advice from Babe Ruth

The best organization wins.”

“Don’t be afraid to take advice. There’s always something new to learn.”

“Never let the fear of striking out get in your way.”

“You just can’t beat the person who never gives up.”

“Study the game, accept advice, keep fit, and above all, save your money.”

Today’s Bible Verse

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24 KJV
