A
Daily Dose of Inspired Wisdom for Quote Lovers.
May 1.
On
this day in 1920, Babe Ruth hit his first home run as a New York Yankee (it was
the 50th of his career). Ruth began his career as a pitcher with the
Boston Red Sox, but moved to the outfield in order to play every day. His
hitting prowess revolutionized the game of baseball. Yankee Stadium was built in
1923, in large part, due to Babe’s popularity (it became known as “the house
that Ruth built”) In 1935, he retired with 714 home runs, a record that was
eventually eclipsed by Hank Aaron. Through the following quotations, the Babe
shares some hard-hitting advice. Enjoy.
