In
1953, Elvis Presley had graduated from high school and just landed his first
job, as a truck driver. One day, on a whim, he stopped his truck in front of a
local
recording studio
and paid four dollars to record a song for his mother. A local producer heard
the record and signed him up. Within two years, Elvis was America's
one-of-a-kind rock 'n roll idol. Presley’s philosophy was simple. The King
advised, "Do something worth remembering." He did. And we—in
our own way and on our own stage—should, too.
