Have you found something in this life that
you're passionate about? Something that inspires you to jump out of bed in the
morning and hit the ground running? And does your passion help create a better
world for you and for others? If you can answer "yes" to these
questions, then you are both fortunate and wise.
Unfortunately, too many of us have become intensely passionate about the things
that improve neither the world nor ourselves. We may fritter away precious hours
in front of the television. Or we may become more passionate about our favorite
sports team than we are about our chosen profession. Or we may fall deeply in
love with alcohol, drugs, gambling, or other addictive behaviors that leave
little time and energy for anything else.
The world erects no monuments to couch potatoes. But, if
you're passionate about a worthy cause and you're willing to work for it, then
you possess the principle tool for leadership, and you possess the
principle energy source for success. So keep searching for a passionate pursuit
that is worthy of the life God has given you.
Have you heard of the game called Trivial Pursuit? It's
a wonderful game to play, but it's a terrible way to live.
