On October
15, 1951 the wildly popular comedy I Love Lucy premiered on the CBS
television network. The show
is still popular with audiences around the world even thought it is now over
fifty years old. I Love Lucy was created and produced by Lucille Ball and
her husband Desi Arnaz. Lucy’s formula for success combined perseverance and
optimism. She said, "One of the things I learned the hard way was that it
