Herbert George Wells was born at Bromley,
in Kent, England. H. G. Wells
(pictured here) gained worldwide popularity with such science fiction classics
as The Invisible Man, The Time Machine, and The War of the Worlds. While
considering mankind’s need for constant change, Wells correctly observed,
"Adapt or perish, now as ever, is Nature's inexorable imperative." If
you’re facing a big decision that involves a major modification in your own
circumstances, remember that the longer you delay needed changes, the more
painful they become. Instead of fighting inexorable change, embrace it and make
the best of it. In the real world, time machines don’t exist. And time doesn’t
stand still. And neither should you.
